This keyguard will fit the ClearKeys keyboard from Alt. This item does not come with a keyboard. This is to order the keyguard only.
No attachment method is provided with this keyguard. You'll need to attach it yourself with something like double-sided tape, Velcro, or mounting putty (Blu Tack, etc.)
Size - The default size of the keyguard is the same as the keyboard. You may optionally choose to add an oversized flange which adds an additional rim around the perimeter, extending beyond the keyboard and containing optional holes which you can use to devise your own mounting method. These holes are 0.19" in diameter and fit a #10 machine screw. Our screw kits fit these holes.
Material - The ClearKeys keyboard has legends printed on its top surface, so you probably want to order a clear material. The keys are just over 1/8" high, so if you pick a material less than 3/16" thick, the keys will actually stick up out of the keyguard. You should probably choose a clear material of 3/16" or greater. 3/16" gives you very shallow holes. 1/4" gives you holes just over 1/16" deep, perfect for most users.
A popular choice is the 1/4" clear polycarbonate which has a lifetime guarantee against breakage and nice, bevelled edges which make the openings softer to the touch.
We also carry the ClearKeys Keyguard (with Legends) provided by Alt. It has a matte black finish and is about 1/4" thick, making for a nice opening depth. The legends from the ClearKeys keyboard are printed right on the keyguard, so they are still visible with the keyguard in place.
